Description Daryle Tilroe 2004-06-26 17:05:51 UTC
Annoying behaviour when using JVC codes (which I always use from my universal
remote). Seems that when starting from a cold boot the squeezebox needs one IR
signal (any will do) from the slimdevices squeezebox remote before it will
recognize *any* IR signals from the JVC codes. I have tracked this down: it was
broken between firmware 23 and 24; i.e. 23 works and 24 does not. I marked it
as major because I now need two remotes until it is fixed.

Have you managed to replicate this yet at slimdevices? The remote juggling is
getting more annoying every day (especially for the wife who is not quite the
afficinado of remotes that I am ;-). It is particularly bothersome since it
used to work great. I am surprised that I seem to be the only one using the JVC
codes.

Sort of just bumping this bug. Since I am back from holidays it has reasserted
itself as a major PITA. Any progress on replication or a fix?

With the latest version of the firmware (31) this bug still exists. Is there
any time available for confirming and fixing or will I have to buy other (ie.
learning) universal remotes to control my Squeezeboxes? I.E. are the JVC codes
not going to be considered supported any longer?

Bug confirmed. Will investigate soon.

BWT I expect you can problably un-wedge it using any remote that send NEC codes (most remotes
beside JVC and Sony).

Hey thanks for the tip! It give a much more elegant work around since I can
just adjust the volume of the AMP (which is in the same mode as the slim JVC
control) to shake things loose. At least I am down to one remote. Don't know
why I didn't notice this before.

Seems fixed for me in 34. I'll close and reopen if it shows up again.
