Bugzilla – Bug 4099
Playlists with multiple radio streams don't display/load
Last modified: 2006-10-03 18:20:33 UTC
Playlists with radio streams don't seem to load properly in 6.5b2. Slimserver attempts to load the first item in the playlist and that's all. It also displays it oddly. (see screenshots) If the first item fails to play, Slimserver stops there, as opposed to trying the next item in the list like it did before. After testing a little more, it seems this only happens with .PLS playlists. I made a .M3U playlist and it plays and displays fine. I also tested making a playlist with album and song data -- it plays and displays fine. So this seems limited to just radio streams. I'll attach the playlists and screenshots.
Created attachment 1522 [details] this playlists functions fine under 6.31 and 6.5b2
Created attachment 1523 [details] this playlist works under 6.31 but NOT under 6.5b2
Created attachment 1524 [details] screenshot of playlist in 6.31
Created attachment 1525 [details] screenshot of playlist in 6.5b2
Dan, please have a look at bug 4092 and tell me if that looks like a duplicate of your bug. Thanks.
Yeah it's the same issue as 4092 and won't be fixed for 6.5. IMO, people should use the MyPicks plugin instead of local playlists to store links to radio stations. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 4092 ***
Subject: Re: Playlists with multiple radio streams don't display/load The problem with that is many users download the playlist from the radio station's site... that is, the station will provide a link to "Listen Now" which points to a playlist. I've generally recommended they ctrl-click or right-click on the link and save the file to their Playlists folder. Otherwise they have to dissect the file and pull the URL out of it, something not all users are comfortable with I suspect. Just my 2 cents. (I haven't looked at the MyPicks plugin yet)
OK I see what you mean here. When you browse into Playlists, the PLS file only lists the first item, whereas the M3U lists all 3, is that what you mean? The first item in the PLS does play fine for me however. I am testing with 6.5.1 svn.
Marked fixed in change 10152.
