Description Ross Levine 2006-09-11 16:28:15 UTC
I'll attach a screen shot so you can see. More than half the time I install 6.5* on my PC, the web interface appears like this. If I go to localhost:9000/default then it looks fine. But localhost:9000 looks bad.

Note this is ONLY with firefox. With IE it works fine everytime.

Andy haven't you looked at a bug like this in the not-too-distant past? Do you remember which it was and/or what the resolution was?

Basically it looks like Firefox is ignoring the CSS for some reason.

Ross, you should also throw ino the comments the workaround you found, which was to clear the browser cache and reload. :)
Comment 3 Andy Grundman 2006-09-12 11:22:31 UTC
No I don't recall looking at anything like this. I think I've seen this, but it was when going from 6.3 to 6.5, the CSS in the cache didn't work for the 6.5 site. Were you doing an upgrade when this happened?
Comment 4 Ross Levine 2006-09-12 11:38:08 UTC
I notice this when doing upgrades/downgrades. I think Daniel actually found the browser cache workaround, not me. The workaround I've used is to try adding the skin name localhost:9000/default. Sometimes that doesn't work and I'll try another skin and then default and it usually works.
Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2006-09-12 11:40:33 UTC
Doing a Shift+Refresh usually fixed it for me.
Comment 6 KDF 2006-09-13 00:47:41 UTC
was this related to change 9651?
Comment 7 Dan Sully 2006-09-13 08:37:01 UTC
Yes. This was the bug I fixed.
Comment 8 Dan Evans 2006-09-13 11:01:45 UTC
Clearing the browser cache actaully did not fix this for me. And I'm seeing this in both Firefox and Camino under 6.5b2.

I'll attach the screenshots I've been taking over the last day or so to illustrate.

I'll make sure I'm fully updated and keep testing it.
Comment 17 Dan Evans 2006-10-05 16:34:13 UTC
I am still occasionally seeing this behavior in 6.5.1 build 10145 in Camino. I don't think this is fixed.
Comment 18 Chris Owens 2006-10-05 16:56:24 UTC
Occasionally? Does that mean it goes away? Are you always seeing it do this after a reinstall?
Comment 19 Dan Evans 2006-10-06 09:58:00 UTC
Subject: Re: web interface skin appears unusual by default, Firefox
 only

No, not after a reinstall. Just at random times while using Slimserver.
One or both of the panes will display bad data. Refreshing the
browser does not correct it. (sometimes it makes it worse) Clearing the
browser cache seems to fix it some of the time.

Comment 20 Kevin Pearsall 2006-10-23 12:12:07 UTC
I don't know if this is really fixed. I'm seeing this very very often especially when using the radio tune in page in Camino 1.0.3 on osx 10.4.8.
Comment 21 KDF 2006-10-23 12:41:52 UTC
bad ui after radio tune in, is bug 4110. some sort of interference between http server for web and http server for streams.
