Description Jeff 2006-09-11 13:56:20 UTC
I upgraded to 6.5b1. When SlimServer fired up, I had no tracks listed. Tried a fresh wipe & rescan and got the following error:

Oops - "\\mediaserver\media\Tracks" doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again.

The directory is there and I'm able to browse to it in Windows Explorer.

oh, and if you had set this up before, you may have to redo it since the install does not maintain the user setting on the service.

Jeff did that FAQ entry get you going again? Would you like me to have support contact you?

Chris-

Thanks for the support offer. I found a thread on the forum discussing the
issue. I changed the service parameters so that the service runs as a
particularly user (as opposed to local system). That fixed it for me.

The share, which is a ReadyNAS (samba) share has guest access enabled, so
I'm not sure why this happened with the upgrade. I think it may make sense
to look into the issue for a future release, but the work around is simple.
It probably shouldn't be too high in the priority list, I would imagine.

We have a plan to work on a more full-featured setup "wizard". I'll put a reference in that bug to this one so we can consider solutions as we work on it. For lack of a better option, I'll just resolve this one as 'worksforme'.

This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released! Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html

If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.
