Description Michael Shapcotte 2004-06-26 11:10:27 UTC
installation of 5.2.0 rpm or the 2004-06-26 nightly rpm of 5.2.1 aborts with a
useradd error.

this bug it not present in 5.1.5 or earlier.

repeated on both a red hat 8 and two red hat 9 systems. tested in and out of an
nis domain.

after aborting, a slimdevices group *is* present in /etc/group, but no user has
been created. below is the shell output of the install procedure.

i'm going to try downloading all the nightlies to determine at which version the
bug cropped up.
Comment 2 Michael Shapcotte 2004-06-26 11:25:52 UTC
ah ha! -- 2004-06-23 installs fine, 2004-06-24 fails with the useradd syntax error.
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2004-06-26 15:16:48 UTC
fixed for latest nightly. Also updated the 5.2.0 rpms available for download from www.slimdevices.com
Comment 4 Chris Owens 2006-06-16 14:39:43 UTC
There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
Comment 5 Chris Owens 2008-12-18 11:51:14 UTC
Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
