Description robin 2006-09-05 15:17:28 UTC
I'm running slimserver 6.3.1 on a well established Windows XP box that has all the available microsoft patches and sp2. At initial instalation I got an error message about perl paths, I realise this is similar to another bug (2567).

Nothing worked so I reinstalled over the top of the first install and got no error this time.

Now the service simply stops when it feels like it. I'll endevour to find a reason for it stopping but nothing is coming to mind. I've been using slimp server on a win2k box for several years without any major pains. The application error message is reproduced below:

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Application ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Perl interpreter failed.

If support can provide some additional info, or if you, Robin, really feel like it's a reproducible bug that's affecting some number of users, you or they can re-open the bug.
