I had duplicate song listings in SlimServer as the songs were in different locations. I deleted one of the songs from Windows Explorer. Later on opened up SlimServer (without rescanning) and clicked play on the deleted song.

I get numerous instances of Transport Errors now (my own fault), however I think that SlimServer should be able to communicate a better error message, then proceed to rescan or verify the song list again.

This is with 7.0a1 Aug 28 nightly. should also occur on 6.5a1 nightly as is currently based on same branch

Ross, could you try reproducing this, and include the full text of the "transport error" Matt mentions?  Thanks.

I'm trying to reproduce this to see the error messages you're describing, and I'm not seeing any error messages at all. I tried to reproduce exactly what you described. 

E:\music is my music directory
E:\music\band\album1
E:\music\album1 <-- duplicate of above album

I then rescanned. Sure enough, both albums show up as they should. Then I deleted E:\music\album1

Then I did not rescan, but just hit play to the right of the album that is no longer there, and nothing happens. I see no error message on the Squeezebox screen, or the SlimServer web interface. All the screen says on the Squeezebox is Now Playing Nothing, which is very much the truth. 

I've tried this both via 'browse music folder' as well as via 'browse artist'. 

Matt could you point me in the right direction here? Is there a step I'm missing? Where are you seeing 'transport errors', is it on the Squeezebox screen or SlimServer web interface? Could you please paste the whole error message(s) or help me to produce this error message?

for the life of me I cannot duplicate now, and i didnt take a screenshot. shame on me. there was an error mode in is sort of like 102731? I believe I was using EXBrowse3 skin, clicked the red play button to the left of the song.

may as well close this out until it comes up again
