Description Robin Rainton 2006-08-24 13:51:41 UTC
This is a feature request (where did that option go?).

I'd like to mount my SB2 on the bottom (underneath) a wall or ceiling mounted speaker. Because the top of the unit is far prettier than the bottom it would be nice to mount it upside down. Given that, it would be nice to have an option to invert the display.

Can't be that hard? ;)

See the forum thread below. It's possible to rotate the SB2's display 180 degrees within the case. The ribbon cable should be just long enough to allow you do this, and a couple of tabs within the case need to be trimmed off.

While SB2 owners might find the option of flipping the screen an not-too-difficult hardware hack, for SB3 owners it's not so easy.

The form factor for the SB3 may be "fresh," but it's not flexible. Not nearly as many placement options as older Squeezebox models. Please, please, consider adding the capability to mount the SB3 upside-down and have SlimServer inver the display.

Changed the product. For various reasons it would make considerably more sense to fix this in Slimserver than in the firmware.

This would allow sb3's to be mounted upside down (ie under cabinets) which to my mind may stimulate a few more sales to folks like myself who already have a couple.

Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
