Description Dan Evans 2006-08-17 17:29:23 UTC
Currently, the only way to disconnect from the current Slimserver is to hold down the left-arrow for 5 seconds. This forces me to also go through the wireless/ethernet setup again. Sometimes all I want to do is change servers.

Can we add a menu option to disconnect from the current Slimserver? To avoid customer confusion, maybe we could hide it in the Settings menu?

Selecting this menu option would drop the Squeezebox back to the "Select a music source" menu.

funny. in my case, push and hold left does go to the music source selection screen. FW59, SB2

So what I'm really describing is an additional menu option (buried in Settings perhaps) that allows me to disconnect from the Slimserver I'm connected to currently. Not a bug.

sounds a bit like bug 2068

True. Also I wonder if it would make sense to keep this in mind as we consider bug 3936?

I remembered the one major difference between the main setup screen and the "Select a music source" screen: there's no option to specify an IP address for Slimserver. So holding LEFT does not offer the same fuctionality. Just a clarification.

Choose Music Source has been available for a few releases now.

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform.
We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or
which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
