Description Mac 2006-08-01 15:59:15 UTC
When using the nokia 770 skin on Slim Server, and controling your Squeezebox from the 770, there is no way to use the Rhapsody service. There is no button, or even a text link.

If you have any questions please contact me.

Hi Ben, another request for your consideration.
Comment 2 Ben Klaas 2006-08-01 17:32:34 UTC
A couple of questions:

1. I'm assuming Rhapsody works from the other skins available in 6.5?

2. How can I test this without paying for Rhapsody? Rhapsody is a pay service, correct?

3. If Rhapsody is accessed via the same way as other plugins, I think this may get fixed when I address general plugin support issues that seem to be a problem in Nokia770.

any input appreciated.

The problem is that the 770 skin has no "Browse" menu that you can drill into. So you will lose Rhapsody as well as any other UPnP source that gets added under Browse. To test a fix, you can install the simple UPnP server GMediaServer on a Linux box, or one of the many Windows UPnP server such as TwonkyVision.

added an extended browse link

from home.html, click on link to (More) in the page header.

The code for the extended_browse is copied from a section of EN/home.html. I didn't go as far as to install a uPnP server to test this, but this page shouldn't populate any differently than the Browse page on Default. Will that cover Rhapsody?

changed files:
/server/strings.txt
/Nokia770/home.html

I'm putting this as FIXED. Reopen as needed.

I just downloaded the latest build of 6.5 and installed it. No such luck with Rhapsody.

When using the standard skin for Slim Server the first group of links is the "Browse" section.
When running a rhapsody server on the same network (preferably the same computer) a link the that Rhapsody server should show up there. You can download the Rhapsody software from their website. You will need to creade a 25 song demo account, but it is free.

Once you have installed the software and imported your music leave the program running and restart slim Server. Within a few minutes you should see the name of your Rhapsody server under the Browse list.

http://localhost:9000/

When you see the link there, try to navigate to the Rhapsoy server using the Nokia Skin.

http://localhost:9000/nokia770/

When you say you downloaded the latest 6.5, do you mean subversion or the latest daily build?

I just checked in the changes today, so you won't see them until tomorrow's build.

On the home page in Nokia770, you should see a link (more) next to the word BROWSE. Follow that link and look for the Rhapsody link on the new extended browse page.

At that point, if this still doesn't work, then please confirm that it does work in other skins, including Default.

I downloaded the nightly today and checked it out. Everything works great!

Thank you for your rapid response to my request. You have made me, and my customer very happy.

Best Regards,
