Bugzilla – Bug 3817
Allow menu hierachy configuration for SqueezeBox
Last modified: 2009-12-14 11:47:21 UTC
Currently, for each attached SqueezeBox, the user is able to customize the top level menu structure that is displayed. This enhancement would enable the user to customize the whole menu hierarchy, not just the top level. For example, I would like to modify the "Browse Music" menu such that "Browse Music Folder" is not present as a menu item. Currently, to do this I would need to remove "Browse Music" from the top level, and add five other "Browse.." menu items to the top level. This makes the menu very cumbersome. Further, the user should be able to create their own menu hierarchys, re-arranging existing menu items to create a menu structure they find easy to traverse. For example, a user might want to create a "Search" menu that contains both the normal "search" menu item and the "Lazy Search" plugin menu item. A user may wish to place the "Search" menu within the "Browse Music" menu as another example.

My complaint is a bit different. I want to move radioio from MyApps to Internet Radio, where it logically belongs. It is an Internet Radio station. Or to add WUOT to Internet Radio. And the defaults are just obvious money-oriented choices. If I want to buy something, I can do it at my computer. Navigating on my squeezebox to buy something would be painful. Why would i want mysqueezebox.com either? I do want playlists, Artists, New Music, Lazy search at the top level.
