Description Neil Sleightholm 2006-07-21 10:59:40 UTC
The GWR mms streams from this URL http://audio.musicradio.com/ (e.g. mms://mediasrv.musicradio.com/Mercury1027FM) have stopped working and I think is it due to this bug http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25048&page=2&highlight=mms. They work ok in 6.5 but I can't find the bug details. Would it be possible to get this fixed in 6.3.

Dan, is this bug in some way a duplicate of 3383?

From the referenced forum thread, it sounds as though there is a stream on port 1755 of the server in question that we do understand. But why did this start with build 6.3.1? Maybe it's just a coincidence, and up until that time the server also had a stream on port 80?

Yes - it sounds like. They appear to have turned off HTTP streaming.

I just fixed a few musicradio.com streams in Picks yesterday. I think to properly stream you need to use a playlist link like this:

http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/playlist.asx?show=5

Tested and works fine in 6.3.1.

I think this start happening when the AsyncHTTP code was introduced.

It does seem to be working today but occasionally fails (see attachment). I think this may be the GWR site. For information I am testing this from AlienBBC's GWR Stations option as it was reported to me as a bug with AlienBBC.

Andy - can you have a look? Timeout issue perhaps?
Comment 6 Andy Grundman 2006-07-25 20:09:26 UTC
This stream works for me in trunk, tested with XP server -> Softsqueeze with wmadec/flac. Probably the new 6.5 scanning code solves the problem.
