Description Dr. C. 2006-07-14 10:33:13 UTC
I have squeezeslave running on 2 computers -- XP on one, Linux on the other. On the XP machine, I used the squeezeslave-0.6.1-win32.zip binary. On the linux box, I built my own from the July 12 SVN (8383?).
The slimserver (on Linux) is SlimServer_6_3_x_v2006-07-11.noarch.rpm (from sourceforge)

When I place both computers into a 'sync' group, the first song has *absolutely perfect* sync -- but when the track changes, they become 'off'.

This is, in general, improved with SqueezeCentre 7.0 and squeezeslave 0.7.4 or later.

There are quite a number of problems trying to maintain synchronization with any PC software player, as one generally does not have sufficient control or knowledge of the driver and hardware buffering in use. Because of this, it is unlikely to get any better than the latest implementation.

Unfortunately change 17285, related to bug 6864, undid some of this support. I have reapplied this to the trunk as change 17810, so this will first be in a released version with SC 7.0.1.
