Description Chris Owens 2006-07-07 16:59:31 UTC
The new 'output enable' feature that works with 6.5 prevents fw57 from playing audio with older versions of Slimserver.

Sadly, if a 6.3 user upgrades to fw57, and then (perhaps realizing it doesn't work) tries to downgrade to fw55 again, the user will have to do a factory reset (connecting power while holding down the '+' key on the remote) to finally restore his or her audio.

I don't know if there's anything that can be done about this issue, so I'm trying to make the bug helpful if it ever happens to a user.

Alas, even trying to revert to fw55 even on a 6.5 system results in no audio until a factory reset is performed.

Chris I have tried upgrading / downgrading between fw55 and fw58 several times and cannot recreate this. Do you see this problem with the analogue or digital outputs? (In fw58 only the spdif output is disabled, the dac is always enabled.)
