Description Philip Meyer 2006-07-05 11:41:26 UTC
I added some new albums to my music folder and did a "Look for new and changed music".
After the scan completed, one of the new artists was not listed under browse artists.
I did a search for the artist, and the artist was returned in the results, but there
were no albums or songs listed when I browsed to that artist.

So it looks like the scanner may be adding new artists, but not albums and songs.

I know that I added other albums over the last week, but I couldn't see any new albums
listed at the top of browse "New Music".

I performed a complete scan, and the new music was detected correctly. I can see the
new albums appearing at the top of the "New Music" listing.

I reproduced this on XP as well.

Were the tracks in question ripped before your previous Wipe & Rescan?

I usually rip to a folder outside of my Slimserver music folder. I then check the tags,
before moving into my slim music folder and scanning.

When I do a partial scan for new and changed files, slimserver doesn't find the albums.
When I do a wipe and rescan, the albums are found.

I've refactored the scanning code in svn change 8549

It now finds new files and changed files by comparing against what's in the database.
