Description Bradley Feldman 2006-06-29 05:17:01 UTC
A change in 6.3.0 causes slimserver to fail to start. Message from server states:

 * Starting Slimserver ...
Can't locate Slim/Utils/Misc.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/slimserver/CPAN/arch/5.8.8/i686-linux /usr/local/slimserver/CPAN/arch/5.8.8/i686-linux/auto /usr/local/slimserver/CPAN/arch/5.8/i686-linux /usr/local/slimserver/CPAN/arch/5.8/i686-linux/auto /usr/local/slimserver/CPAN/arch/i686-linux /usr/local/slimserver/lib /usr/local/slimserver/CPAN /etc/perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.2 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.2/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.7/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/local/slimserver/slimserver.pl line 265.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/local/slimserver/slimserver.pl line 265.

------------------------

I figured out a quick fix:

Edit slimserver.pl

Insert a new line right after the line "use warnings;" (line 16) that says:

use lib qw(/usr/local/slimserver);

-------------------------

I sense a strong lack of Quality Control and Regression testing of "release candidates" at SlimDevices. Folks -- get your acts together.

I did. Doing a bug search on the keyword "@INC" brought up nothing.
