Cannot connect Squeezebox with this:

Mikrotik Routerboard
532 with R52 daughterboard (802.11b/g wifi).

This was caused by a DNAT rule for port 9000 that had been set on the Mikrotik router, after this rule was removed the problem was resolved. It was not a SB3/Mikrotik compatibility issue.
