Description Blackketter Dean 2006-06-13 13:14:19 UTC
this is on tank. Crash here:

Can't find Unicode property definition "BidiClass:R" at /usr/local/slimserver/Slim/Display/Graphics.pm line 225.

right before this I printed out the string in question:

June Windows Update To Be Biggest in a Year -- Supersonic1425 writes "The BBC reports that this month's security update from Microsoft will be the one of the biggest this year. Nine of the patches are for Windows one classed as critical two are for Office and one for the Exchange e-mail server software." From the article: "At least one of the loopholes being patched is already being actively exploited by malicious hackers. ... Microsoft is not only tackling security problems but also the fallout of a legal case that the software giant lost."

Probably able to reproduce by sending a display command with some high-bit text in the message.

Dean - have you tried this with a new/different perl?

Ok - slimserver on tank is now running perl 5.8.8 out of /usr/local/bin/

FYI, /usr/bin/perl is now a symlink to /usr/local/bin/perl5.8.8

Dean - how is this looking with the new perl?

Better, but I want to give it a little more time.

Dean hasn't had any crashes since perl was upgraded on his machine.. Closing a perl issue for now.
