Description Julius Friede 2004-06-07 07:56:06 UTC
Using the 6/7 nightly build, no playlists are accessible from the alarm clock setting. All playlists appear
when browsing playlists, and I can select any alarm clock playlist from the web interface, just not from
the remote (settings/alarm clock/select playlist) (slim remote). The only choice available is the Shoucast
browser*recent selection. This is the case with both Squeezebox and Slimp3. I am using iTunes 4.5.

should load the playlists properly with this patch

the playlists were moved from itunes and moodlogic and into control of Info.pm.
This patch calls the playlists from there.

I tried placing this patch in "/Users/juliusf/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane/Contents/
server/Slim/Buttons/AlarmClock.pm" as a replacement for the original AlarmClock.pm, but it doesn't
work. Rather, the server will not start with this file in place. How and where do I use this patch
correctly?

TIA,
Julius

There is another problem I am ,having with the 6/7 build, but I don't know if it is related. Just like with
some of the early 5.x builds, this one will not recognize my Music folder, be it via iTunes or a directly
entered path. I get the "Oops" message again. If I rebuild the iTunes XML file the server recognizes the
music, but the next time the server is stopped and started, the server (or my music) is lost. This is not a
problem with the 6/3 build.

I have gone as far back as the 5/31 nightly build, which definitely used to work fine as far as the alarm
clock ability to select playlists, and this build no longer works either. All I see there is the Shoutcast
Recently played choice. This I do not understand. Could something have gotten corrupted so that an
older build that used to work no longer does? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Julius

I think this bug should also be considered since it is a "regression" I guess. I tried the patch supplied
but it did not work, as I previously reported. I use (used) this feature quite a bit. Admittedly it does
work properly from the web interface, but even attempting it from the remote resets the choice and I
must goe back to the server to reset it. Not a killer, but an inconvenience.

Hi Julius... I can't reproduce this problem. The Alarm Clock looks in your playlists folder and provides a
list of all the playlists there. Is your playlists folder set up correctly?

I will apply kevin's fix, but you should be able to see the non-itunes playlists already.

My playlists show up fine when I'm browsing playlists, and they show up via the web interface when I
am choosing a playlist for the alarm clock. The only situation they don't appear in is when I am
choosing a playlist for the alarm clock with the remote. With the remote they do appear if I just want to
play a playlist now. When attempting to select a playlist for the alarm, only the Shoutcast - recent
choice is available.

SInce I can access my playlists in all other situations, I would tend to think that my playlist folder is set
up properly. This problem started in late May, although I don't remember the exact build, but I used to
be able to select a playlist for the alarm via the remote. I keep a playlist of obnoxious tones that I use
as an alarm (don't ask), so I tend not to change it very often. I only noticed it when nothing played one
morning and I discovered that there was nothing to select.

the 6/16 nightly build seems to have resolved the problem. I don't know if it was software or the new
firmware that did it, but as of now this problem is resolved for me. Good work guys.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
