Description Ross Levine 2006-05-17 16:40:04 UTC
Slim Server -> Help -> Getting Started

Step 2: Connect your Squeezebox player to your network

Insert one end of the included ethernet cable to the rectangular connector on the back of your Squeezebox player. Connect the other end to your ethernet switch or hub. (If you want to connect your Squeezebox directly to the ethernet port on your computer, youll likely need a crossover ethernet cable, which should be available from your local computer retailer.)

No ethernet cable is included with the Squeezebox, please change this documentation to avoid confusion.

seems to have been corrected for 6.5 in change 6477. This could port directly over to 6.3 at least for quickstart.html

fixed for tonight's nightly
Comment 3 Ross Levine 2006-06-16 17:54:12 UTC
SlimServer Version: 6.3.0 - 8002 - Mac OS X 10.4.6 (8I127) - EN - utf8

Verified to be fixed. If anyone was interested in knowing, I didn't discover this, a customer did.

Documentation should have read: "If you cannot locate the included ethernet cable, check your wire drawer."
