Bugzilla – Bug 3378
Rhapsody tracks must always be re-added to a playlist
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:12:23 UTC
If Rhapsody is closed during a playlist, then reopened, the tracks must always be re-added to the playlist.
Chris: were these standard saved playlists? I had a case where the player stopped playing rhapsody tracks and refused to play any more until I rebooted the player? Would a reboot fix it in this case?
Unfortunately it looks like Rhapsody chooses a random port for its UPnP HTTP server each time you start it up. Since all music URLs include the port number, they'll all stop working if you restart Rhapsody. One option might be to not include the port number in rhap:// protocol links and look up the correct port number every time you play a track, but then what do you do when you have more than 1 Rhapsody server on the network? I think this might have to be a wontfix... Dean, your thoughts?
Subject: Re: Rhapsody tracks must always be re-added to a playlist Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Well, the port number is bound to the IP address, so it seems reasonable to essentially ignore the port number in the rhap URL and look it up when you start to play (and cache it for performance if necessary.)
Fixed, please test: Load up a playlist. Restart Rhapsody (or just change the UPnP server name). Play the playlist.
Subject: Re: Rhapsody tracks must always be re-added to a playlist This should also preserve items on the now playing playlist, etc. across rhapsody server restarts, etc.
Verified fixed in the June 8 build (SlimServer Version: 6.3.0 - 7805 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252)
