Description J Adrian Pickering 2006-04-24 16:04:57 UTC
Below was a report of a bug that I confirm still exists in 6.2.1 today. I report it here since Adobe Audition is able to import the DigiTV generated .mp2 files. This suggests that the audio is extractable and that the problem is likely a trivial format conflict. I can provide some example files if you'd like.

Nebula DigiTV is making a bit of a splash in Europe and beyond so this is probably something worth looking at. I used the DAB card for several years but since that is no longer available/supported I need to switch to other ways to replay my digital radio recordings. Still using 2 Slimp3s and 1 Slimdevice.

Default Stuttering MP2 playback - files created by Nebula DigiTV DTT card (UK)
Apologies for the duplicate post but my first attempt has been
threaded incorrectly.

In the abscence of a working DAB radio solution for XP at present (all
screwed by SP2) i've been thinking about other ways of listening to
the radio shows i want over a squeezebox. My server has a Nebula
DigiTV Digital Terrestrial TV card which will make recordings from the
Radio channels broadcast on DTT in MP2 format.

This seemed simple enough as it's a supported format so I dropped a
shortcut to the recordings directory into my playlist location and now
i can select recordings through the playlists menu.

However, playback stutters like someone chopping the signal a couple
of times a second. The squeezebox is wired so there should be more
than enough network capacity. Is this solvable?

My thoughts were:
Bitrate too high for the network-Cant be. the transmissions are only 192kbs
some sort of translation from mp2 to another format going on on the
fly and the PC unable to cope - shouldnt be since its a 3ghz P4 with a
gig of RAM.)
an issue with Slim's MP2 playback (MP2 search didnt bring up any messages)

So I'm a bit stuck.

Please attach a sample file that exhibits the problem. Thanks!

Is it possible to attach an example file that exhibits the problem? None of my test content seems to have this symptom.

Is this still an issue with the latest 6.5?

Thanks

If someone can provide a sample track for this we can work on fixing it.
