Bugzilla – Bug 3302
adhoc networking broke somewhere along the line
Last modified: 2008-12-18 11:38:39 UTC
It worked on FW28, doesn't work now. Capture files in the usual location.
I upgraded to a nightly build of 6.2.2, dated 4/17, which upgraded my FW to 41. Ad-hoc is now broken. How do I downgrade the FW to a working one when I can not complete the networking set up? I have installed an older 6.2.2 build, dated 3/15, which I previously had working. It appears to have FW version 35, but my SB2 is stuck on FW41, which will not allow me to connect, and therefore not allow the FW to be downgraded. BTW, I do not have a router, hence the need for ad-hoc mode.
To downgrade the firmware you will need to temporarily connect the squeezebox to your pc using a lan cable. Sorry for the inconvenience. This is now fixed in firmware 45 that is now in test, and will be in a nightly build soon.
Thanks. I guess I'll need a crossover cable since I'm going to be connecting directly to the SB2, right?
Yep, if you are making a direct connection from the PC to the SB3 you'll need a crossover.
Thanks again. Hope to see FW45 out there soon.
I have just committed firmware 45, so it will appear in the next nightly release in two/three hours time.
