Bugzilla – Bug 3299
Playlist changes applied to wrong streaming player
Last modified: 2006-04-20 10:50:59 UTC
The problem is sporadic and I've been unable to track down the causes of it in order to duplicate it reliably. But whenever it does happen, these are the steps: 1) stream from the slimserver to one player (SB3 or :9000/stream.mp3 via streaming audio player) 2) view the playlist for that player in the UI 3) in the web UI, change the dropdown menu to select a different player (SB3 or :9000/stream.mp3) 4) change the playlist for player #2 5) the playlist for player #1 is the one which actually gets wiped out/changed I have two SB3 at home and usually stream from my SlimServer to my CentOS box here at work. I have experienced this problem in these cases, where changing the playlist for one ends up changing the playlist for the other: * between the two SB3 * between two different streaming audio players here in the office (perhaps could be the result of being behind a NAT) * between the CentOS box here at the office and my sister's streaming audio player 2500 miles away So far I don't recall noticing it between a SB3 and a streaming audio player, but that could just be my memory failing me, as it is wont to do.
This sounds like an old bug related to mixing players identified by the IP (using stream.mp3) and those using MAC (hardware and softsqueeeze). Are you certain that this is the very latest build of 6.2.2? This should already be fixed.
Subject: Re: Playlist changes applied to wrong streaming player You're right. I made a mistake and thought I was on the latest version. The version I'm on is: SlimServer Version: 6.2.1 - 5194 - Linux - EN - utf8 I'll upgrade. Sorry for wasting the time, but many thanks for setting me straight. --V Slim Devices Bugzilla wrote: > https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3299 > > > > > > ------- Comment #1 from slim-mail@deane-freeman.com 2006-04-19 17:20 ------- > This sounds like an old bug related to mixing players identified by the IP > (using stream.mp3) and those using MAC (hardware and softsqueeeze). I commonly see this as well (latest 6.5, though) whenever one of my players is a Softsqueeze client on a remote network. Music is played on the wrong client, Now Playing shows music playing on another client, the playlist doesn't show the Now Playing song, etc., etc. Also, pressing 'Clear' in the playlist sometimes causes the selected player to change, and clears the wrong playlist.
The upgrade to 6.2.2 seems to have done the trick. I'm resolving this bug as invalid. Many thanks again for setting me straight.
