Description Adrian Smith 2006-04-17 16:42:35 UTC
powerOnBrightness is often changed during upgrade process as server saves prefs in "Press and hold Brightness" upgrade screen.
Comment 1 Adrian Smith 2006-04-17 16:55:10 UTC
Can impact powerOff as well as powerOn Brightness pref.

svn 6956 avoids saving brightness prefs in this screen.

This seems the same as bug 2540.

Mike - I read 2540 and thought this was different, hence the new bug.

Just to clarify. The problem I have fixed was that in pressing and holding brightness on the upgrade screen, then server may interpret IR button presses as requests to change brightness. This leads to the stored on/off or idle brightness being changed and saved. Hence when the player restarts with the new firmware it does not have the old brightness values.

I think the bug you raised was about the brightness of the progress bar seen during the upgrade, rather than brightness seen after the reload?

I suppose there could have been two bugs. I've seen yours, and I believe that in my case, the brightness did not change until after the upgrade had started. I'd see the progress meter correctly, but then it could go dark during or after up until the reboot message was displayed. Of course, upon restart, we revert back to your case, where idle/poweroff brightness occurs. I suppose until the next firmware, there's no easy way to verify. I could downgrade to check.
