Description Dave Pilgrim 2006-04-16 23:48:11 UTC
Running ubuntu. I have installed several versions of 6.5b1, both from the tarball and the deb package, upgraded the firmware - first to 37 and recently to 41. On my SB3 the play stops at the end of the first track. Using the down arrow to manually move to the next track and pressing Play makes the progress bar for the new track jump immediately to full (or occasionally about 2/3 full) and stay there. Same thing happens for each successive track chosen, with nothing actually playing. Rebooting the SB3 (holding down power button) resets things and it will then play a new track, but the same effect repeats and it stops at the end of this new track. If you move to a second track before the first has finished then this will plpay OK but, if this plays to completion, then the next track will not start - appears to be related to track boundaries?

Interestingly my SB2 (also with firmware 41) does not show this behaviour but plays tracks consecutively without intervention or interruption - it is only the SB3 that stops.

Have tried various debug flags but nothing jumps out and am not sure which one to focus on.

try d_source, that shows playback and play mode changes.

Appears to be caused by starting SlimServer via the attached init script. Direct start from the command line does not show this behaviour. Crippled nature of server when started from init script is repeatable and consistent.

Dave - that helps a lot. I'll try and reproduce.

What Debian release are you running?

I've dropped the severity to Normal since there is a work-around.

Thanks.

Dave - is this still an issue with the latest nightly builds?

Thanks.

Dave?

Marking this as closed - works on my Ubuntu install.

Dave, please reopen if you have reproducable steps.

Thanks
