Bugzilla – Bug 325
Diacritic characters breaks browsing by music folder
Last modified: 2008-12-18 11:50:48 UTC
Slimserver ver. 5.1.6 5-22-04 nightly build (and several of the previous nightly builds) has a problem browsing to music folders whose path names include characters with European diacritic marks: e.g. trying to browse to the folder.. C:\Recordings\Music\b_Renaissance\Various\Codex Specilnk - Hilliard Ensemble -- or -- C:\Recordings\Music\a_Medieval\Guillaume de Machaut\Le Vray Remde d'Amour - Ensemble Guilles Binchois ..results in the "You need to specify a path to your directory containing your music files" error page. Browsing by Genre is not broken with this version, as I have no trouble browsing to the track listing for "Codex Specilnk - Hilliard Ensemble" as an album name. But browsing the music folder is definitely broken with any kind of diacritical character. I think this has just cropped up with the nightly builds in the past week or so.
Created attachment 35 [details] 2 special characters instead of one for the diacritic character As you can see there are 2 special characters on the position where only one should be..
Comment on attachment 35 [details] 2 special characters instead of one for the diacritic character is displayed as "%C3%83%C2%BC" but should be "%C3%BC" (as you can see on the other attachment).
Created attachment 36 [details] how the path looks when playing a song from such a directory Here you can see how the path should look like. The german character "" is displayed as "%C3%BC"
I believe I've fixed the problem and am building a new nightly release. Can you update and verify that the issue is fixed for you and if so, close the bug? Thanks, dean
Dean seams to have fixed this. All my music folders with Czech, Norwegian, German and French diacritics are browsable now.
There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
