Description Oren Sagher 2004-05-21 20:48:22 UTC
Everything seems to be running on this new install of slimserver 5.1.5 on
Fedora Core 1. Files show up and queue up on the Squeezebox player. However,
whenever, the "PLAY" button is pressed, it immediately stops. No music is ever
heard. The Squeezebox player just states "Stopped" over the title of the song.
This is true for both pressing play on the web insterface and on the remote. I
cannot for the life of me figure out why the files are clearly there and
visible over the network, but refuse to play. Please advise.

That's consistent with a problem with permissions on your files. Does the "slimserver" account have
access to your music files?

From Oren:

The problem had to do with the absence of an AAC streamer native to the
slimserver configuration. With Dean's help and with the help of Andrew
Donoho (who described how to incorporate faad translation), I now have
things working well. Thanks for the follow-up.

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
