Bugzilla – Bug 3213
Use number keys on remote as shortcuts
Last modified: 2006-03-28 00:10:11 UTC
On my phone if I press and hold down '1' then it speed dials a number that I have assigned, similarly for '2', ... '9'. It would be nice if, on the SB remote, one could press and hold-down a number key and it would take one to an assigned menu location in the SB world: E.g. I could assign '1' to take me to the Browse Artists menu I could assign '2' to take me to the Favourites menu I could assign '3' to take me to the Shoutcast menu I could assign '4' to take me to the AlienBBC menu I could assign '5' to take me to the Lastfm menu . . . It would save a lot of clicking around menus, which is what I do at the moment to switch from Internet radio to my library, to BBC, and back again...
the number keys are shotcuts. you can always reconfigure them yourself by editing the Default.map file, or creating a new Custom.map file. see the help section, technical information.
exmaple mapping for hold 0 to go to AlienBBC plugin 0.hold = menu_PLUGIN.Alien::Plugin as the number keys are already used for the favorites feature (which now even has it's own button and more functionality on the way), you are likely going to have to get used to using a custom map using similar lines to the above.
Thanks! That answers my question!
ok, closing off then. if you have further questions on how to implement the changes, please feel free to post queries on the forum.
