Description Marc Auslander 2006-03-10 13:53:36 UTC
It would be nice if one of the Large Size Now Playing choices showed elapsed time. As it is, large size simply shows the second line of the two line now playing. Elapsed time is on the first line.

I believe this is possible already with the MusicInfo Screensaver

er...that's a plugin, btw.

This function is supposed to be provided by the MusicInfoSCR plugin. (I'm having trouble, but that's not an issue for here.

I've been using the MusicInfoSCR plugin to work around what is, IMHO, a difficiency in now playing that could/should be fixed. It works, but is not totally satisfactory. In particular, you have to wait for a timeout for it to take effect, since the now playing button takes to you now playing, not MusicInfo. And beyond that, this is such an obvious (to me) correction that it should be built in.

To repeat the previous description:

When you select large size (on line) display, now playing ignores the elapsed time and VU settings, presumably since these are normally displayed on the first of the two lines - the on omitted in a one line display. Thus, there is no way to get elapsed time in the one line now playing. The UI already provides for it, of course, since you can still cycle through the various elpased time choices - they just don't make any difference in the display.

The to me obvious enhancement is to display elapsed time to the right end of the one line display, just as MusicInfo will if specifkied, when in an elapsed time mode of now playing.

we'll need to look at this post-6.5

MusicInfo completely fixes this for me - so I'm closing it.
