Description Brooks Davis 2004-05-13 17:41:57 UTC
The default network connection timeout is too low when the SqueezeBox is
connected to a managed switch with spanning tree enabled. In many cases it can
take up to a minute for the network to settle so 20 seconds doesn't cut it. The
work around with my current hardware is to allow the timeout to happen and then
got back and try again. Then the network is detected properly.

I would like to add my vote for the timeout to be increased also. Perhaps this can be a user changeable
setting (if this is possible). I am finding that when searching or browsing the new music folder the timeout
happens just before (maybe up to 10 seconds) the music is found. If this timeout was increased then I
would not have the embarrassing lost contact message appear and then a blank screen before the music
appears when I am demonstrating the sb.
imac 800mhz 10.4.2, wired sb 1, 6.1.1.

I'm afraid at this point, this one just won't get fixed.
