Description Patrick Dixon 2006-02-21 14:59:20 UTC
I'm having a problem connecting wirelessly with an SB2 and a Linksys WAG54G, which is a BB Modem/WAP/router/switch - UK only, I think.

I've seen the problem with Firmware V15, V28 & V33 but it seems to be intermittent. Wireless strength indicates a healthly reading (~60/70%) but periodicaly (every 1-2s) it drops to 0%. When in this 'mode' the SB2 will not connect to my wireless network although it can see the SSID.

It seems to flip to a working mode where wireless strength is consistent (no 0% drops), and then the connection can be made OK and appears to persist.

Recycling power can flip modes!

I don't recall seeing this problem with older SB2s using the Atheros Wireless card in exactly the same location with the same wireless network.

I am miles from another wireless network and a main road, and the wireless network is set with broadcast SSID and no password/protection.

There is a FW35 now. please update svn or try the next nightly.

This does seem a whole lot better with Firmware 35 (although there is no reference to any wireless improvements) ... and I have also discovered an antenna problems which wasn't helping!

So thanks for your attention.
