Description Steev Horlock 2006-02-19 05:46:09 UTC
I have transferred some of my fathers old 78's to my PC as mono Monkey's Audio files, (.ape). When playing them on my Squeezebox 1, they sound like Pinky and Perky. This also happens with .flac files. When converted to .wav, .ogg or the ubiquitous .mp3 formats, they sound O.K. I'm using Monkey's Audio version 3.97, and flac 1.1.0. I'm pleasantly surprised, as I did not realise that the Squeezebox would play .ape files, at all.

Steve - could you attach one of the files in question to this bug?

Alternatively, upload it to ftp://electricrain.com/incoming/

Thanks

Sorry for the delay, I've been away. Here is a sample mono .flac file that
plays at double speed. I'm presently using Slimserver 6.51b, but plays the
same on 6.21 & 6.22.

	Regards,

 Steve

we would need to add mono support to the firmware.
Comment 4 Richard Titmuss 2006-06-28 08:35:58 UTC
I had misread the bug and thought this was a squeezebox 2/3 problem. Mono files playback fine on the newer squeezeboxes. Updating the product as this is for squeezebox 1.
Comment 5 Blackketter Dean 2007-10-22 17:00:33 UTC
This would have to be fixed in SlimServer with some cleverness in transcoding.

Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
