feature request: 
when connection to slimserver is lost, periodically try to auto reconnect. 
Maybe as a user configurable option to turn on or off ?

I'm confused.  Are you saying it doesn't auto-reconnect?  Because it  
is supposed to.  Can you describe the behavior you are seeing in more  
detail?

sorry, RTFM. SB does auto reconnect with interval, "press RIGHT do try again" is just a way to speed things up.
