MusicMagic causing duplicate song entries
Last modified: 2006-02-11 17:22:02 UTC
Problem with duplicate of every song in the library when (latest version of) MusicMagic is installed. The library ended up with 2 entries for each song, one with mm and one without. Tried the following with same duplicate results: - 6.21 - 6.22 - 6.5b1

Hello?
I'll try to look at the db today. please be patient. There are a lot of other activities, and some of us (like me) are on volunteer time.

Here is the cause: Track 12009: file:////Trinity/usbdisk1/media/FLACS/Pet%20Shop%20Boys/Pet%20Shop%20Boys%20~%20Discography,%20The%20complete%20singles%20collection%20~%2010%20~%20Domino%20dancing.%20~%20Rock%20~%201991.flac Track 13757: file:////trinity/usbdisk1/media/FLACS/Pet%20Shop%20Boys/Pet%20Shop%20Boys%20~%20Discography,%20The%20complete%20singles%20collection%20~%2010%20~%20Domino%20dancing.%20~%20Rock%20~%201991.flac The uppercase Trinity is the musicmagic mixaqble version. I notice that you have your playlists folder set to: playlistdir: \\trinity\usbdisk1\media\FLACS This would explain the lower case version. You shouldd choose a different folder for playlists.
I made a change in trunk to help with this - audiodir and playlist dir go through fixPath (and thus, fixPathCase) which DTRT on Windows. That change might be portable back to 6.2.2
When was this change done? J's original tests did include 6.5 earlier this week.
OK Thanks very much. I did not understand completely the instructions, but I download the latest 6.22 and re-installed, changed both my SlimServer music and playlist path to a dummy C: drive directory containing only one song. Now I have all my music captured from MusicMagic without duplicates. Thanks very much, not sure if it is 6.22 or my Playlist path change that fixed it. But you can close this case if needed. If not, if you want me to test something else, I can.
