apparently WEP and WPA+TKIP fail as well. More specifics:
I was looking at the wiki router status page and can't see my router listed there.

Here is more specific info re: my SMC router, SMCBWR14T-G

http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=311229&cks=SER

It is firmware version 1.11. I updated it from 1.07.

I have tried the following:

Without encryption and ethernet (works but is not an option.) I am not going to try WEP because it's about as good as having no encryption.

Fixed IP, turning on and off DHCP on the router.

Disabling the Booster aspect. Simply b/g mixed.

Multiple restarts but it still can't find the DHCP server, ergo 19.254.x.x AIPA addressing.

I need to know if there will ever be a fix because there is no use holding on to a Wi-Fi device that does not work. I really like the device, once it works, and would rather address this issue than return it.

do we have one of these in house? also, has it been tested with 33?

Any update on this?

FYI - Very rarely it will show "Waking up Slim Server". Further restarts show it getting in a cycle of

Connecting to Slim Server > Connecting to Wireless Network > Connecting to Slim Server > Failed.

Looks like the product is intermittently dropping the connection.

I have logged a call with SMC but they claim that the router is fully compliant. It may help if I could tell them what brand of wireless NIC the Slim Device uses?

Dean,

Had the device working for a good while now.
I upgraded the firmware to version 35 but it still didn't work. After that I changed the channel on the SMC router to 10 and it works with WPA, not WPA 2. Not sure if it was firmware upgrade and/or wireless channel change.

Please close the ticket. Many thanks for all your help.

I have a fix for WPA2 that should appear in firmware 37. Will update this bug when it's available for download.

Please try the latest nightly build with Firmware 37 and reopen if you have
issues. Also, please note details of your configuration if you have not
already.
