Description Brett Stark 2006-01-30 08:31:09 UTC
I request that a new feature be added to the menu structure...i would like the ability to instantly go to a list of podcasts stored in my itunes library...and the ability for these podcasts to be filtered out of my general music library when doing browse..i know i can select not to included unchecked songs via the webserver, however i don't want to do this as then slimdevice would not see my podcasts at all...i would rather the ability to have a menu item that lists all of my itunes podcasts (and can start playing them from there - ie browsing these podcasts) and the ability to filter these podcasts out of my general music library for easier browsing etc...this could be done by altering the browse features to filter out anything containing 'genre = podcasts || podcast'.

There is already a menu item for iTunes podcasts.
However, the music does still show up in normal browsing as well.

where is this menu item?...i don't believe i have seen it.

It is on the home page under browse music (or the pulldown in fishbone skin). This shows up as a result of the iTunes scan, if all is working correctly. iTunes has a "podcasts" playlist, which you will see in browse playlists. Each of the items in teh playlist are assigned an extra genre of "podcasts", so that they are available as a direct link from the home page, or by browsing genre. The original genre is also included so that users can browse normally and also find the podcast content.

However, given your report of problems with iTunes playlists, I'm not surprised that you haven't seen this. It might be worth trying 6.2.2.

actually, i was meaning a menu on the player itself - a dedicated podcasts menu that can be put on the top level menu if you want....

er...player settings->menu. It is also there as an item to add. (once again, only if the playlists are detected)

Since this feature already exists, marking as resolved. Please re-open if there is still any issues, and provide any specific details that you can.
