SB3 complete lockup using netgear dg834pn router
Last modified: 2006-02-28 13:32:19 UTC
SB3 connects and operates for a short time (usually minutes) before completely locking up - screen freezes and music stops. This needs a power disconnect to rectify (remote is totally unresponsive - even holding down power button has no affect). This occurs with a Netgear dg834pn, WEP enabled. The problem occurs in all 3 d834pn wireless access 'modes' (b&g, g only and Auto 108Mbps). I have previously used a Netgear WG602v2 with absolutely no problems. The problem disappears if I switch back to using the WG602v2. I have seen this problem when using the Slimserver 6.5 beta on a linkstation and on an adequately powered Linux server. I can try 6.2 if you think that would make a difference, but it really looks like th eproblem is down to the Netgear dg834pn router
Can you try this with the latest firmware (v33) in the nightly releases? reopen the bug if the issue remains. Thanks.
This works fine with the v33 firmware. Thanks.

I was searching for known bugs along these line after following up on thhis thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21547 It seems to be a similar issue/problem but only that my SB3 cuts out after a prolonged period of inactivity. I have not tried a different screensave as was recommended in the thread.. but as it strikes me that htis could be related can you please advise. I currently run SlimServer Version: 6.5b1 - 6367 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252 downloaded 25/2 nightly firmware 35 ANy ideas on what I ouhgt to do?? Thanks Ricahrd
