Description Rob Moore 2006-01-22 11:38:30 UTC
It appears that the sb2 is able to connect but unable to authenticate. I see the following cycle in my router logs:

Jan/22/2006 13:34:43 Authenticating...... 00-04-20-05-b3-81
Jan/22/2006 13:34:42 Wireless PC connected 00-04-20-05-b3-81
Jan/22/2006 13:34:35 Authenticating...... 00-04-20-05-b3-81
Jan/22/2006 13:34:34 Wireless PC connected 00-04-20-05-b3-81
...

I have seen some bugzilla entries discussing some forthcoming kernel fix for folks with wpa2+aes issues but no movement since November. Not sure if this is related, but would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks!

I should have mentioned I have firmware 2.71 and I have a version C of the router.

Also, I was able to use this router with wpa-tkip before but now need to be able to support either wpa-aes or wpa2-aes (there is an auto wpa2 mode that supports either of these protocols simultaneously but does not give me the option of running wpa with tkip) on the network.

I have updated my sb2 to use firmware 29. Still does not work, but I no longer get an infinite loop of "Authenticating... Wireless PC connected" messages as before. I see too such loops and then no more (at least so far). However, the sb2 is not able to obtain an address via DHCP.

Some additional info, the router shows the sb2 as connected constantly rather than just seconds at a time as it was prior to firmware upgrade (it's been connected a couple of days now). I've tried setting up the sb2 to use a static IP (thinking perhaps the DHCP negotiation was an issue) but that hasn't had any effect.

I have a fix that should appear in firmware 37. Will update this bug when it's available for download.
Comment 5 Richard Titmuss 2006-04-06 06:05:45 UTC
Please try the latest nightly build with Firmware 37 and reopen if you have
issues. Also, please note details of your configuration if you have not
already.

Everything appears to be working on my end. I have noticed that I consistently get just static for some songs but I'm not sure this is attributable to this bug.

Thanks!
