6.5 wll not start slim.exe command line error message attached
Created attachment 1099 [details] slim startup error output
must be something corrupted there. strings.txt should have the ALARM_FADE string since a long time ago. There is also no call to Slim::Utils::Misc::blocking, or any function call reference at line 101.

Subject: Re: 6.5 will not start Yes, please uninstall and reinstall the latest 6.5. Thanks, dean

Both loaded just fine.... however both version would =not= run exbrowse3 (404 error, no RPC) and although Default2 ran initially, it seemed to be unable to display a playlist in the player pane. Tested in both FF 1.5 and the latest rev of IE. The xPl plugin was engaged in all cases. I'm ready to go back to 6.2.2...
Subject: Re: 6.5 will not start Does the default skin work? Or is this a skin-specific issue?

Subject: Re: 6.5 will not start I'm not sure. Please post on the Beta forum, that'll get the best attention.

I think I confused it originally with the Xpl plugin...
the json plugin is required for exbrowse3 and default2. it is labelled: "XML-RPC/JSON-RPC Interface" in the plugins section. The default skin is working for me,but I'm running the server on linux. I still strongly suspect you have gotten yourself into some strange configuration. You could try a blank pref as a test: c:\program files\slimserver\server\slim.exe --prefsfile c:\sservernew.pref

The RPC plugin is in the plugins directory... but nothing shows up in the web UI. Exbrowse and default2 still refuse to load.
ok, so we're just having a problem with Default2 or Exbrowse3? It seems that 6.5 starts fine, so really this bug is done. Default2 issues are being raised as part of bug 2578, exbrowse3 issues in 2428, 2462, 2522. Jacob is aware that there are problems with the skins right now, and is supposedly working on them.

Well, this just need focus. 6.5 starts, yet summary says it doesn't. So, for this bug, we need to focus on why. that, or this is invalid. other skin issues are another thing. this bug system is getting far too cluttered with mixed info, so I hope we can stick to what is required for this bug. Even before you wipred the prefs, you mentioned that default skin was fine. I suspect that a clean install was the fix for the problem reported, and that the rest of this is part of other bugs or new bugs.
