Bugzilla – Bug 2770
Random albums with duplicate entries
Last modified: 2005-12-31 15:13:30 UTC
After looking through the reports, I havent found this exact problem. Random albums have each track shown twice, although iTunes only has it once, as does my Music folder. I have not found anything that is common among these albums, nor anything that stands out different from albums that are correct. It doesnt seem to be encoding engine, ID3 tag version, date, genre, etc. Accent characters are not the problem, nor is a playlist with these albums (there are no playlists with these). Going to the Song info level for duplicate entries are identical in size, location, everything. I have rebuilt the iTunes XML database, cleared the SS cache, replaced the SS pref files (both .pref and .plist), rescanned my music folder, everything I can think of. I even deleted one album and re-ripped it. Still it has duplicate listings. I am currently using SlimServer Version: 6.2.2 - 5448 - Mac OS X 10.4.3 (8F46) - EN - utf8 (12/30 build). The problem is identical with the 12/11 build. My computer is: G4 AGP SP/ Giga Designs 2GHz CPU 896 MB RAM OS X 10.4.3 iTunes v6.0.1 Let me know if you want me to send specific log date, example of song that shows twice, etc. This is definitely a problem. Thanks, Julius P.S. Happy New Year
do the dupes still show if you use JUST the music folder scan (don't use iTunes) or when you use iTunes and have no music folder?
I cleared the Use Music folder location field, leaving only Use iTunes enabled, and that fixed the problem. Thanks.
