Bugzilla – Bug 2769
Web UI for editing favorites
Last modified: 2008-12-15 13:07:20 UTC
This is not a bug, but rather a feature request/suggestion. I find the Favorites feature to be very useful, however I have not found a good way to add Internet stations to the Favorites list via the web UI. The problem with adding them via the SqueezeBox interface is that the stored URL usually references Shoutcast. For example, when I browse Shoutcast and pick a SKY.fm station and add it to my favorites, the stored URL is that of the Shoutcast one, not the SKY.fm .pls file. I'd like a way to add a specific URL to the favorites list so I have the ability to add "SKY.fm Best of the 80s" as "http://www.sky.fm/mp3/the80s.pls". So basically, an "Add Tune-In to Favorites" button or something... It'd also be nice to be able to rename and readdress existing favorites via the web interface so I can rename the horribly chosen "S K Y . f m" favorites to "SKY.fm" and so forth.
dev note: Dean suggests using the playlist editing code to do this..

The poster of bug 4641 points out a workaround posted by Milwood on our forums at http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=31227
7.0 has web editing for favourites, so maybe best to review this to see if there is anything left to cover.
I agree. Any additional bugs with the favorites web UI should be new bugs.
