When using Random Mix the system plays files that are flagged as ignore in iTunes (unchecked) and the server (ignore files unchecked in iTunes). These files cannot be located in using the search or browse function so that bit works.

Dean recently corrected some of the logic regarding ignoring checked itunes tracks.  Is this still an issue for you?
Having just run a quick test myself on 04-25 build, I can't get an unchecked song to show up in random.
