Bugzilla – Bug 2703
Changing web server port results in no audio
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:20:09 UTC
If I go to Server Settings > Network and change the web server port number to something like 9300, the SqueezeBox (original wireless model) will no longer play audio. The port is not in use by any other application, and switching it back to 9000 fixes things. While it's set to 9300, the web interface works correctly on that port. The SqueezeBox doesn't report any errors, and there's nothing unusual in the slimserver.log. It acts like it's playing, but no sound comes out of either the digital optical port or the headphone port. It also seems to continue playing past the end of the song, so the counter keeps advancing even when the track is over.
Also, if you click Web Access in the Mac Preferences panel, it always goes to port 9000, even if you've changed the port.
Dean - any thoughts?
What kind of player is this? Squeezebox 1 or Squeezebox 2/3?
Squeezebox 1
Dean - thoughts? I looked at the PrefPane - it's hardcoded to 9000. Not sure how to go about fixing that.
Okay we're splitting this bug up. This one will be the fact that the SB1 can't connect to port 9300. Low chance of it being fixed, I'm afraid. If there's much interest, users should vote or add their addresses to the CC: field to let us know. The fact that the Mac pref pane 'web access' button always tries to connect to port 9000 has been moved to bug 3940.
This is the SB1 portion of the bug. Not going make it for 6.5
Alas, we can't fix this for SB1.
