we should update it to include what modules need to be installed when using the tgz distribution on an unknown arch, as well as mention the build-perl-modules.pl script.

I can, but I think I'd just be bugging you for information, Dan.  That file is for folks not using the standard installs and heed some help with CPAN and your build script.  If you get the basic information in there, I'm happy to clean up the text.

might be safest to just add the note about the build script, and rely on them getting package list from that.  Given that this list keeps changing, the less files that have to be updated eaach time, the better.
