Description Tim Hanson 2005-12-06 11:11:03 UTC
I just upgraded the slim server to 6.2.1. After the upgrade, the screensave that I use when the device is powered off stopped working. The display is blank.

The player plays fine, so there are no issues connecting to the server.

I have two squeezeboxes - a 2 & a 3. It is only the squeezebox 2 that has this problem. Its firmware was the one I updated first. I don't know if that's relevant.

I tried changing the powered off screen saver, but it never displayed anything.

Did you try the latest 6.2.2 nightly build?
Have you tried pressing the "brightness" button while off?

Also, the "None" screen saver is blank by default. If you want date and time, choose that one. And make sure you press the Brightness button to make sure it's not darkened.

Holding the brightness button down did the trick. It updated the firmware again, then after it rebooted, the date & times showed up.

Thanks!

Actually, I was just suggesting you press the button and try to bring
it out of being dimmed. I doubt that the upgrade actually fixed it,
but the important thing is that it's working for you.
