Bugzilla – Bug 2685
Uncheck "start automatically" doesn't work
Last modified: 2008-09-15 14:39:24 UTC
When installing SlimServer on Windows XP, I am presented with an option checkbox, prechecked, to start SlimServer automatically on Windows startup. I do not want SlimServer to start automatically, I want it to run only if I run the executable. However, despite unchecking this box, SlimServer still starts automatically. I can make it not do this by running msconfig.exe, selecting "Selective Startup", and unchecking the SlimServer system service and SlimServer Tray Tool startup item. However, every time I reinstall SlimServer (e.g. to try a new beta), I have to re-run msconfig and select these options.
