Bugzilla – Bug 2683
Only one alarm triggered, when there are several at the same time
Last modified: 2008-12-15 11:57:51 UTC
A user in the german forum reports that only one player does actually play when more than one of the players have an alarm set for the same time (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=69537). Additionally that only working player will block any input from the remote. It has to be power cycled to be reanimated.
Is this an everyday alarm or one of the weekday alarms? Is the chosen playlist a random mix option, current playlist, internet stream or local playlist?
Knulp said (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=70127&postcount=5) "Alarm setting every day or only for one day, playing playlist internet radio station, random mix option." As I understand him he tried the different options.
Dean just fixed a blocking issue today, that would lock out remtoe use when the alarm falls back to the current playlist. Remote should function after this goes into the nightly builds for Dec 8
Thanks, I'll try to test it tonight.
Michael - is this still an issue?
Dan, I did only report for a guy who did not want/know to write a bug report in english. I was never able to reproduce his particular issue (maybe I did not try hard enough). And I haven't heard of him. If you don't mind waiting another few days before closing I'll ask him again.
Ok.. I'm going to close this then. Please reopen if you or he can reproduce.
I think I'm being hit by this bug. Just the bug in the summary, not the additional blocking input from remote mentioned. School has started again and another child needs an alarm. When I set both alarms (SLIMP3 and SB1) to the same time, only 1 plays. It's the same player every time. I didn't notice any errors or messages in the server log file. I'm working around it by offsetting the alarms by 1 minute. Both players can use independent alarms fine. The alarms are M,T,W,Th,F alarms, same time every morning and they play a m3u playlist with local music files. I'm using server 7.1 on ubuntu 8.10: SqueezeCenter Version: 7.1 - 22170 @ Mon Jul 28 13:30:29 PDT 2008 - Debian - EN - utf8 Perl Version: 5.10.0 i686-linux MySQL Version: 5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.1 Platform Architecture: i686-linux
QA: please try to reproduce in the 7.2 branch with Max's new code.
Verified fixed in SqueezeCenter Version: 7.2 - 22374 @ Tue Aug 5 01:05:27 PDT 2008 - Windows Vista - EN - cp1252
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already. If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
