Description Tom Armitage 2004-04-22 09:59:25 UTC
I have noticed a problem with displaying artist names with MP3s with non-alphanumeric characters in
their artist tags.

I am running SlimServer 5.1.5 on a redhat Linux 9.1 based box.

Specifically, I have some MP3s by "AC/DC", they are stored in the /mnt/music/AC_DC/album directory
on the server. This directory correctly shows up as "AC_DC" when browsing by folders on the web
interface. However when browsing by artist, "AC/DC" shows up only as AC.

The MP3s themselves were created and tagged using LAME and contain "AC/DC" in the artist tag.

I'm betting you have an artist called AC and another called DC :)
The id3 spec calls for multiple artist using / as the separator. Clearly, there
are cases where this isn't good.

this has been resolved by making tag slitting chars an optional setting.

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
