Description Luke Kendall 2005-12-03 22:02:22 UTC
Would it be possible for the Squeezebox itself to run the server software,
if there were an externa USB hard drive attached? In that way, the device
becomes a true stand-alone audio system component. Many people don't keep
their PC turned on and running all the time.

What do you think?

none of the current hardware has the oomph to run SS however i think this should be a product they put out.

why not provide the variety? i would buy one and pay more for it.

Unfortunately there is no USB support for SB2/3.
Let me introduce the <A href="http://www.logitechsqueezebox.com/products/squeezebox-touch.html">Squeezebox Touch</A>.

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform.
We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or
which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
